In May 2016, we were excited to have volunteer work day with a San Francisco-based food services non-profit called Project Open Hand (POH). POH was founded to provide nourishing meals to those fighting HIV/AIDs, cancer and over the years expanded to seniors. POH just had their 30th anniversary last year and really depends on their local community of volunteers (ongoing or one-time) to assist clients, stock and organize their grocery centers, along with meal preparation and delivery. POH is always looking for volunteers and support so please check out their website to learn more
During our volunteer day, SF+Acumen team helped to individually package chicken and stock the grocery center where clients shop. It was a great day of teamwork and we look forward to volunteering with Bay Area non-profits again soon! If you have any questions or suggestions for future volunteer days, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org and check out photos from the event out here!
